When your friends are both awesome and nerdy, you get your very own mobile wedding website! Go to http://hitched.herokuapp.com/ now to get an easy-to-view wedding schedule, complete with maps, on your cellphone. Thanks, Ben!
We’ve made all sorts of updates to the site recently — there is transportation information on the lodging & transportation page and we have added some details to our schedule page.
I am sure we will be making frequent updates in the coming weeks, so please check the site from time to time.
You can RSVP to all of the pre-wedding events on the RSVP page. If you RSVP’ed via snail mail, we marked you as attending the ceremony and reception and by default marked you as not attending any of our other events. If you plan to attend any pre-wedding activities, please let us know so that we can plan accordingly and supply adequate food and beverage. Please update your RSVP for all of the pre-wedding activities by the end of the week (Saturday June 30th). If you have any trouble with the website, feel free to just email me to respond.
What Erin and I have been thinking all week. As, Captain Jack Sparrow says, “A wedding, I love weddings!”
Though Erin’s Dad doesn’t believe in the “unique snowflake” theory of childrearing, we love little ones and youngins are welcome at the casual volleyball party in Aurora on Thursday afternoon.
For the wedding ceremony and reception, there are a number of child care options available. If you are traveling from out of town and need some help connecting with options, please contact mother-of-the-bride, Wanda Venters explaining your child care needs and she will help arrange something with you.
“Your mom lives in San Francisco, your dad in Boston. Your sweetie’s parents are in Tulsa, you two live in Houston, and other friends and family are scattered all over the country. You’re the perfect candidates for a weekend wedding — a three-day affair that’ll make everyone glad they used their frequent-flier miles to come see you get hitched.” (From: The Knot Complete Guide to Weddings in the Real World).
While the cities are a bit off, I suppose the fact that our family and friends are scattered all over the country makes us good candidates for an extended affair. As everyone starts to plan their summer venture out to Colorado, we wanted to make sure that you know that there will likely be some activities starting as early as Wednesday evening and continuing until Sunday midday. We haven’t worked out all of the details yet (and to be honest, there is lots to plan), but we will be sure to keep you posted on the Schedule page. Please know that you are in no way obligated to attend all (or any) of the various events that will be scheduled around the wedding (we may not be at every event ourselves); we completely understand when vacation days are limited, and we know that everyone has busy lives. But we appreciate that many of you are planning to travel a long way for the event and we want to try to spend as much time with you as possible and to assure you that your time in Colorado will be full of fun outings that you can choose to attend.
Again, from The Knot: “With such a hot list of social opportunities on the weekend’s schedule, you’ve got to keep the folks informed. One option is a newsletter. A cooler option, for those with the skill, is a website.” Well, Dan brought the skill, so we will be using the second option in an effort not to overwhelm your inboxes. But, that does mean that you will need to check back here from time to time to stay in the loop, and no one wants to be out of the loop. If you want to be emailed every time we update the site, follow these steps.
Then, enter your email address.
