About the Bride: Erin Miller was born in Texas and raised in Aurora, Colorado, along with younger siblings Jon and Kelly, by their parents Wanda Venters and Brad Miller. She attended Sagebrush Elementary School, where she made some lifelong friends, and then mostly, she was a Buff from there on out, first at Smoky Hill High School and then at the University of Colorado at Boulder where she met Dan. After a year spent working at the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) in Denver and living in Honduras, she went on to get her Masters in Public Health at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City. She now works at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Washington DC, in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Planning and Evaluation, working on implementation of the Affordable Care Act (health reform). About the Groom: Dan Mayer was born in San Diego and raised in Springfield, Il, along with his older brother (and one of his best men) Shawn, by their parents Elaine and Steve Mayer. Dan is batman for computers and has been starting technology companies since he was 15, most frequently with one of his other best man, Ben Brinckerhoff. Dan also attended the University of Colorado, where he played an odd sport — Broomball (hockey without skates, but still on the ice, a broom-shaped stick, and a ball instead of a puck) — with Robin Wahl, a friend who knew Erin through University Sport Clubs (Erin played field hockey), so when Robin was looking to beef up her roster, Erin was a natural choice. And thus began the story of Erin and Dan. Dan is now a software engineer at LivingSocial in Washington DC. To learn more about Dan, go to his blog at: http://wastedbrains.com/

The Proposal: Dan’s love for technology and communication has proven infectious, and both Erin and Dan have stories of the proposal on their blogs.
